2012 SEC Schedule – so far!

Posted in NCAA College Football 2012 on 23.12.11 by Merlyn

Originally, the SEC said the 2012 SEC schedule would come out before Christmas. Now they are saying this week. We’ll see.

One Texas A&M blogger reports that their schedule will be:

Home Away
• Mississippi State
• Arkansas
• Florida
• LSU
• Auburn
• Alabama
• Missouri
• Ole Miss

There are a few games that are written in ink. The World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party will take place in Jacksonville on October 27, 2012. November 24, 2012, the last Saturday of the regular season, is still preserved for the Iron Bowl and Egg Bowl as well as Arkansas-LSU playing the day before (Nov 23). Additionally, some sources claim that Florida at Texas A&M is a lock for September 8, 2012. Many sources believe that the 2012 Alabama-UGA game is off in favor of Mizzou playing Bama.

Here in grid form is the 2012 schedule for all SEC teams SO FAR:

2012 Sept 1 Sept 8 Sept 15 Sept 22 Sept 29 Oct 6 Oct 13 Oct 20 Oct 27 Nov 3 Nov 10 Nov 17 Nov 24

2011 NCAA College Football Elimination – Week 8

Posted in NCAA College Football 2011 on 18.10.11 by Merlyn

Any team with 3 or more losses is long gone. New to this group are Florida & Tennessee.

It is not out of the question that a 2 loss team can win a National Championship (LSU in 2007) but it is farfetched. Auburn, Texas, Texas Tech, Arizona State, Baylor, Iowa

School W L Status
Alabama 7 0 Strong; Elimination game Nov. 5 (LSU)
LSU 7 0 Strong; Elimination game Nov. 5 (Bama)
Oklahoma 6 0 Strong; Elimination game Dec. 3 (Okl St)
Okl State 6 0 Strong; Elimination game Dec. 3 (Okl); @Texas Oct 15
Wisconsin 6 0 Mediocre schedule, might need some help
Stanford 6 0 Mediocre schedule, might need some help
Clemson 7 0 Surprise team; Tough games: UNC (Oct. 22) at Ga Tech (Oct. 29)
Boise State 6 0 Weak schedule hurts them
Kansas State 6 0 It’s only a matter of time.
Oregon 5 1 Will have to run the table and get some help
Virginia Tech 6 1 Will have to run the table and get some help
Arkansas 5 1 Will have to run the table and get A LOT of help
Nebraska 5 1 Will have to run the table and get A LOT of help
Michigan State 5 1 Will have to run the table and get A LOT of help
South Carolina 6 1 Lattimore is done and so are the Gamecocks
Penn State 6 1 It’s only a matter of time.
Rutgers 5 1 It’s only a matter of time.
Michigan 5 1 Will have to run the table and get A LOT of help
Southern Cal 5 1 It’s only a matter of time.
Illinois 6 1 Will have to run the table and get A LOT of help
Georgia Tech 5 1 Losing to a weak Maryland team probably kills their chances
Houston 6 0 Eliminated; Sorry, it ain’t gonna happen
Auburn 5 2 Eliminated
Texas 4 2 Eliminated
Texas Tech 4 2 Eliminated
Arizona State 5 2 Eliminated
Baylor 4 2 Eliminated
Iowa 4 2 Eliminated
Florida 4 3 Eliminated
Tennessee 3 3 Eliminated

2011 SEC Wrap-Up, Week 7

Posted in NCAA College Football 2011 on 17.10.11 by Merlyn

Alabama: Looking good. Real good.

Auburn: Ugly.

Florida: They still have yet to recover from the thrashing the Tide gave them in 2009 (and 2010 and 2011), made Tebow cry and made Urban have a nervous breakdown.

Georgia: Look at their record and they are not bad. Watch them play a game and they do look bad.

LSU: If I am coaching this team, Jordan Jefferson only plays in garbage time or in case of a Lee injury.

Ole Miss: Do ya’ll remember how excited the Ole Miss fans were when they hired Nutt? He has set the program back another 10 years.

Mississippi State: I am convinced that nobody can win big here. The state doesn’t have the recruits and what you do have you split with Ole Miss. It has to be impossible to convince someone from out of the area to come to Starkville. Mullen should start job hunting.

South Carolina: Spurrier is getting a big helping of karma. Connor Shaw has a big game and he dumps Stephen Garcia. Now it looks like Shaw is just as bad. Additionally, he does not develop any other running backs and now it’s trial by fire.

Tennessee: Vols fans are getting impatient? Already? They need to realize that is going to take some time to undo the mess that Fat Boy and Lame Kitten left in their wakes.

Vanderbilt: It must be sad to think this is what they consider good.

* Arkansas & Kentucky did not play.

2011 SEC Wrap-Up, Week 4

Posted in NCAA College Football 2011 on 26.09.11 by Merlyn

Alabama: A.J. McCarron may not be as smart as Rhodes Scholar finalist Greg McElroy but he has a better arm and doesn’t make mistakes (outside of the Kent State jitters). Sometimes, that’s all it takes.

Arkansas: I can’t help but wonder what this game might have been like if RB Knile Davis had played. I think Bama still wins but it would’ve been closer.

Auburn: They are playing just as bad as everyone thought they would but still getting W’s. 20 years from now, everyone will forget the ugly play but remember the record. Time for them to start losing.

Florida: Demps & Rainey both had 100+ yards the week before playing Bama. So did Arkansas’ Ronnie Wingo and Penn State’s Silas Redd.

Georgia: Delusional UGA fans think the Ole Miss game was a good win. Sad.

Kentucky: Speaking of sad… All Rich Brooks improvements slipping back to the norm in Lexington.

LSU: Nothing against LSU, but West Virginia is not as good as ABC/ESPN tries to convince you they are. Kudos to the Tigers for taking care of business but the Mountaineers had no shot at winning that game.

Ole Miss: The curse of the “Rebel Black Bear” and Colonel Reb’s excommunication continues.

Mississippi State: What the bleep? OT against La Tech?

South Carolina: Stephen Garcia will probably go down in history as the best and worst South Carolina quarterback of all-time. What a train wreck.

Tennessee: I could not believe I saw Derek Dooley doing CBS commentary on his week off. Do you know what Saban does during his bye weeks? He prepares for the next game.

Vanderbilt: We all know Vandy will never win the SEC East but they do have some good players (the ‘Dores lead the nation in interceptions with 14). The problem is, they just don’t have the 40+ good players it takes.
